How to Manage Multiple Recruitment Vendors

Firstly, it’s a big no-no to have multiple recruitment vendors. Why? There are plenty of reasons. To mention a few, read here. I’ll be sharing a separate article on this shortly. One of my Favourite HR Leaders Greg Savage explains it beautifully in his hard-hitting article. Read it here.

But still, if you are an HR manager/Hiring professional, and you have a list of vendors associated with you, then you need to know how to squeeze it and make it work.

Firstly there are many tools/Softwares in the market which can help you in Vendor Management and Vendor selection both. Few to mention

But, if you don’t want to buy a software/App, you can simply follow these steps:

  1. Make a list of all the vendors associated.
  2. Give a quick revision to their websites/proposals/commercials etc.
  3. Have a glance on their previous performance based on data/closures/ROI etc.
  4. Shortlist half of the list and call them over for a meeting.
  5. Vendor meeting is a sort of vendor recognition. Understand their skills, expertise, team size, work style, work ethics and discuss your needs/requirements and expectations.
  6. Shortlist any 3,2,1 vendors and finalize your paperwork with them for the next year and intimate the same to the others.
  7. Segregate your assignments on the basis of vendor expertise and do not over-distribute the requirements, it affects the quality.
